Description The Bonkay Borehole Water Supply System is functional and is located to the west of
Baidoa town, within Baidoa district. The Bonkay borehole is 120m deep and with a yield
of 18-20m3/hr, it supplies water to approximately 100, 000 urban residents of Baidoa
residing in the western sections of the town including IDP settlements. The WSS also acts
as a source for emergency water trucking during periods of drought and provides water
for livestock within the area.
This ‘Invitation to Tender’ aims to undertake the necessary rehabilitation required to
enhance supply and improve access to water and sanitation services to local
communities. The borehole’s location provides for easy accessibility and convenient
logistics to the site. |
